Fruit Roll-Ups® English rose tops cake and jam layers.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 rolls Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® strawberry chewy fruit snacks (from 5-oz box)
  • Sugar
  • 8 toothpicks
  • 8 teaspoons seedless raspberry jam
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and line a 15x10x1-inch pan with foil, then spray with cooking spray.
  • Follow the steps on the cake mix box to create the batter, then transfer it into the pan.
  • Bake for 17 to 23 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan for about 30 minutes then transfer to the freezer and freeze until firm for about 1 hour.
  • To create the roses, remove the fruit snacks from their packaging. Lightly brush one side of each fruit snack with water and sprinkle with sugar. Repeat the process on the other side. Cut each snack into 1/2-inch strips. Roll the strips around one end of a toothpick, shaping them into roses. Secure the ends by adding an extra strip and pressing gently. Make a total of 8 roses using this method.
  • Remove the cake from the freezer and effortlessly lift it from the pan using foil. Use a 2 3/4-inch round biscuit cutter to create 16 rounds from the cake. Place 8 rounds on a cooling rack, top side down, and generously spread 1 teaspoon of raspberry jam on each. Finally, top with the remaining cake rounds, top side up, to complete the delectable jam stacks.
  • Place the frosting in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave uncovered on High for about 30 seconds until melted; stir well. Allow it to cool slightly. Spoon 2 tablespoons of the melted frosting over each cake, letting it drip down the sides. Secure a rose-topped toothpick through the top of each cake for both stability and an elegant decoration.
