Delicious homemade English toffee makes the perfect holiday gift with its rich, nutty, and chocolatey flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.25 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Grease a 10x15-inch jellyroll pan with butter.
  • In a heavy skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in sugar and water, bring to a boil. Add almonds and stir constantly until nuts are toasted and sugar is golden. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan without spreading it.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot sugar mixture to melt. Spread the melted chocolate evenly and allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
