Spicy tomato-chili sauce elevates this turkey meatloaf without ketchup.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.25 cup vegetable juice (such as V-8®)
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 dashes hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 sweet onion, diced
  • 0.5 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 (16 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup chili sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine egg, vegetable juice, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, sage, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce in a large bowl. Mix in oats and let it soak.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then sauté onion, bell pepper, and celery until softened, about 5 minutes. Combine with mushrooms, turkey, and oat mixture; shape into a loaf and transfer to a broiling pan. In a bowl, mix tomato sauce and chili sauce, then pour over the turkey loaf.
  • Roast in the oven until fully cooked, approximately 1 hour, ensuring internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
