Ingredients:
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (7 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded or cubed Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare macaroni according to package instructions.
  • As macaroni cooks, melt butter in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Add flour, salt, pepper, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Pour in milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Add cheese and cook, stirring occasionally, until melted.
  • Incorporate the macaroni into the creamy cheese sauce with care.
  • Transfer the mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish. Bake without a cover for 20-25 minutes until it is bubbling hot.
