Delicious fig, cranberry, and almond cookies - a perfect dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unprocessed bran
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped dried figs
  • 1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
  • Combine flours, bran, baking soda, cinnamon, and allspice in a medium bowl using a whisk. In a separate large bowl, mix brown sugar, melted butter, and eggs. Stir in figs, cranberries, and vanilla. Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Carefully fold in the almonds.
  • Place 1/4 cupfuls of dough onto a cookie sheet, making sure to leave 4 inches of space between each. Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly on top.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until almost set. Allow to cool for 2 minutes before transferring from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack.
