Crispy Filipino fried pork belly seasoned with garlic and bay leaves for a delicious and simple dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds pork belly, cut into small pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your ingredients.
  • In a skillet, mix pork belly, garlic, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Add enough water to cover the ingredients. Boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the skin is tender, about 35 to 45 minutes.
  • Drain the pork and allow it to air-dry at room temperature.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
  • Sear pork in hot oil in batches until beautifully golden, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove the fried pork using a slotted spoon and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
