Family-friendly egg roll wraps filled with savory meat and veggies, perfectly fried until golden and crispy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package lumpia wrappers
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.33333334326744 cup finely chopped onion
  • 0.33333334326744 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 0.33333334326744 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 1 quart oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Thaw the lumpia wrappers completely. Place them on a dry surface and cover with a damp towel to prevent drying out, as they are very thin.
  • Combine ground beef, pork, onion, green pepper, and carrot in a bowl. Spoon 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto the wrapper and shape it into a compact strip in the center. Ensure the filling is not wider than your thumb to avoid burning the wrapper prematurely. Fold one side over to the other, tuck in the ends slightly, and roll into a cylinder. Seal the edge by dampening it with water. Repeat process with the rest of the wrappers and filling, covering finished lumpias to keep them moist. Consider inviting a friend or family member to join in for a more enjoyable experience!
  • In a 9-inch skillet, heat the oil over medium to medium-high heat until it reaches 365 to 375 degrees F (170 to 175 degrees C). Fry 3-4 lumpia at a time for 2-3 minutes per side until they are golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Cut each lumpia into thirds for easy party snacking. Enjoy lumpia with sweet banana ketchup, a Filipino classic that adds a unique touch to this dish!
