Irresistible pork and veggie dish enhanced by fragrant five-spice powder!
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 pound pork tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup sake or dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon black bean sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ reduced-sodium chicken broth (from 32-ounce carton)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cups snow (Chinese) pea pods
  • 1 medium yellow summer squash, cut into 1/4-inch slices (2 cups)
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch strips
  • 4 cups hot cooked rice
Instructions:
  • Trim the fat off the pork. Slice the pork into 2x1x1/8-inch pieces. Combine sake, bean sauce, and five-spice powder in a medium glass or plastic bowl. Add the pork slices and stir to coat. Refrigerate, covered, for 20 minutes.
  • Combine the broth, cornstarch, and oyster sauce, blending them together until smooth.
  • Prepare your well-loved wok or large skillet with a light coating of cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Introduce the marinated pork, stir-frying for about 3 minutes until no longer pink. Toss in the pea pods, squash, and bell pepper, continue stir-frying for 2 minutes.
  • Combine the broth mixture and stir it in. Bring it to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for about 1 minute until it thickens. Serve over rice.
