Creamy cream cheese flan with luscious golden caramel topping. Elegant dessert, perfect baked and chilled for serving.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 0.33333334326744 cup 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a blender, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, evenly spread sugar. Cook until edges caramelize, about 1 minute, then use a spatula to drag sugar towards the center. Stir occasionally until caramel turns golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Fill a large oven-safe pot or baking dish with 1 inch of boiling water for the water bath.
  • Pour the luscious caramel into a 9-inch flan mold or baking pan, swirling it up the sides to reach 1 inch. Then, gently pour the condensed milk mixture on top before placing it in the water bath to bake.
  • Place the flan in a water bath in the preheated oven and bake until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from the oven and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Refrigerate the flan until firm for 2 to 3 hours, then carefully flip it onto a serving plate to showcase the caramel on top.
