Spiced flat iron steaks grilled and baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (6 ounce) flat iron steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
Instructions:
  • Place the steaks on a platter and let them sit at room temperature for around 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Combine the olive oil, pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a small bowl, then massage the mixture onto one side of each steak evenly.
  • Place the steaks on the hot grill, with the seasoned side facing up, and cook for 2 minutes. Then, flip the steaks and sear the seasoned side for another 2 minutes.
  • Place the steaks in the hot oven and bake with the seasoned-side facing up until cooked to your liking, around 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well. Let them rest for 3 to 4 minutes before serving.
