Pan-seared pepper-crusted flat iron steaks topped with a sweet and savory syrup. Simple, impressive, and delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 3 pounds flat iron steak
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely ground mixed peppercorns
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Coat steak in olive oil, then generously coat with ground peppercorns and salt; let it marinate. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add flat iron steak, and cook to preferred doneness, approximately 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • After cooking the steak, transfer it to a plate and cover to keep warm. Mix in the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté over medium heat until lightly browned, approximately 1 minute. Add the balsamic vinegar, raise the heat to medium-high, and boil until the vinegar reduces by half.
  • Slice the flat iron steak thinly against the grain, then elegantly arrange on a platter. Drizzle with the reduced balsamic and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
