Upgrade your grilled burgers with a crispy fried egg, crunchy bacon, and gooey American cheese for the ultimate flavor explosion.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 pound ground chuck (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 hamburger buns, split
  • 3 slices American cheese
Instructions:
  • Brown and crisp up the bacon on the flat top grill over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  • Combine ground chuck, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl, using your hands for a more flavorful mixing experience. Shape the mixture into 3 equally-sized balls.
  • Take the crispy bacon off the flat top and crank up the heat to medium-high.
  • Coat the burgers evenly by rolling them in the flour spread out on a plate. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil onto the hot grill.
  • Place each burger onto the oiled flat top and press down firmly to form a patty about 1/2-inch thick. Cook until browned, about 4 to 5 minutes. Use a firm, metal spatula to flip the patties and scrape up all the crust. Continue cooking until browned and no longer pink inside, about 4 to 5 minutes more. The burgers should reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (70°C) when checked with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Turn down the heat to medium and pour in the rest of the oil. Gently crack the eggs onto the grill. Cook until the outer edges turn opaque, which takes around 1 minute. Cover the eggs, lower the heat to low, and continue cooking until the whites are fully cooked, approximately 4 minutes.
  • Layer American cheese, crispy bacon, and a fried egg on top of the burgers nestled within the soft buns.
