Indulgent flourless chocolate cake - simple, fudgy, and gluten-free treat for all occasions.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 18 (1 ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and generously grease a 10-inch round cake pan.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, blend together sugar, water, and salt until fully dissolved; then, set aside.
  • Melt bittersweet chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 15 seconds, for 1 to 3 minutes. Transfer melted chocolate to the bowl of an electric mixer.
  • Cut the butter into pieces and gradually beat each piece into the chocolate until well combined. Mix in the hot sugar water, then slowly add and beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Place your cake batter into the prepared cake pan. Then, set the cake pan inside a larger pan and fill the larger pan with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
  • Bake the cake in a water bath in a preheated oven for 45 minutes, leaving the center slightly wet. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight until fully set.
  • Unmold the cake by briefly dipping the bottom of the pan in hot water for 10 seconds, then flip it onto a serving plate.
