Fondant for Chocolate Cherries

Make a 4-ingredient fondant to coat dried maraschino cherries before dipping in chocolate. After 5 days, enjoy a lusciously juicy cordial candy treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Instructions:
  • Sift confectioners' sugar multiple times into a bowl until smooth.
  • Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter, corn syrup, and salt until light and fluffy for about 5 minutes. Add sifted confectioners' sugar and beat until well combined.
  • On a dusted work surface, gently lay the fondant and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Divide the dough in half, wrap each piece in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
