Create spooky Halloween treats with crispy rice cereal, marshmallows, and Betty Crocker® chocolate frosting for a ghoulishly delicious dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 1 bag (10.5 oz) miniature marshmallows (5 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups green candy melts or coating wafers (12 oz)
  • 8 thin chocolate wafer cookies, crushed
  • 18 thin pretzel sticks (2 1/4 inch), broken in half
  • 1/2 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • 36 candy eyes
Instructions:
  • Prepare the 13x9-inch pan by lining it with foil, making sure to leave some overhang on 2 opposite sides, and generously grease the foil with shortening or butter. In a 3-quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat. Stir in marshmallows and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until melted, stirring frequently. Take the saucepan off the heat and mix in the peanut butter until smooth. Then, add the cereal and stir well.
  • Evenly press the mixture into the pan using a greased spatula or waxed paper. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and gently press them into the cereal mixture. Let it cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Prepare cookie sheets with waxed paper. Use foil to easily remove bars from the pan, then cut into 6 rows by 3 rows. In a microwavable bowl, heat candy melts uncovered on High for 1 minute or until melted; stir until smooth. Dip the top of each bar into the melted candy, smoothing the top with a spatula. Sprinkle crushed cookies on the top edge of the bars to create "hair." Place them on the cookie sheets. Gently press pretzel pieces halfway into the sides of each treat. Attach 2 candy eyes to each face using frosting. Place the remaining frosting in a resealable plastic bag; seal the bag and cut off a tiny corner. Squeeze the bag to pipe frosting onto the treats for "scars" and mouths.
