Indulgent potato side dish with layers of onions, cream, and French onion soup mix, perfect for any barbecue.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) package dry French onion soup mix
  • 1.3333333730698 cups diced cooked bacon
  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2.5 cups heavy cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Start by laying down a bed of sliced onions in your baking dish. Sprinkle on French onion soup mix, then add a layer of bacon pieces, followed by potato slices, shredded cheese, and cream. Repeat the layers, finishing off with a final layer of shredded cheese on top.
  • Coat a piece of aluminum foil with cooking spray and use it to cover the baking dish.
  • Cook in the oven until the potatoes and onions are tender, for 40 to 50 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until nicely browned and bubbly.
