Indulgent French toast casserole with maple-infused bread and creamy cream cheese for a decadent breakfast delight.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) tub whipped cream cheese
  • 9 thick slices bread
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Generously slather cream cheese onto bread slices and then dice them into cubes. Arrange the bread cubes at the base of a 9-inch square baking dish.
  • Combine eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed. Pour over bread cubes, gently press to soak evenly. Allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Bake in the oven until the eggs are cooked and fluffy, for 35-45 minutes.
