Elevate classic French toast with the irresistible crunch of French Toast Crunch™ cereal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 loaf challah bread
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/4 cups French Toast Crunch™ cereal
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Cut the bread into thick slices and leave them uncovered for 8 hours.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, gently warm the milk, 1/2 cup of cream, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and cinnamon until tiny bubbles form. Remove from heat and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Whisk in the eggs into the warm milk mixture.
  • Crush 4 cups of cereal in a food processor until fine crumbs form, or place cereal in a large resealable plastic bag and roll over it with a rolling pin until crushed.
  • Immerse bread in creamy mixture, then cover with cereal crumbs. Melt 1 teaspoon of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup cream and 1/4 cup cereal for later use.
  • Cook French toast for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, adding butter to skillet as necessary. Keep cooked French toast warm on a cookie sheet in a 200°F oven. Strain cream to remove cereal; discard cereal. Whip cream with remaining teaspoon of vanilla and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Serve alongside the French toast.
