Indulge in a delicious homemade ice cream with a delightful crunch of French Toast Crunch® cereal.
Ingredients:
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup French Toast Crunch® cereal, finely crushed
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat egg yolks and sugar until creamy and pale yellow, about 3 to 4 minutes on medium speed. Mix in vanilla and set the mixture aside.
  • Heat milk in a 2-quart saucepan until bubbles begin to form around the edge. Avoid boiling. Stir in crushed cereal using a whisk until well combined. Remove from heat.
  • Gradually incorporate 1/4 cup of the milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking until well combined. Repeat this process twice more. Transfer the egg mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until thickened and able to coat the back of a spoon. Allow the mixture to cool completely in the saucepan for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Chill mixture in saucepan until thoroughly cold, approximately 2 hours.
  • Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer’s instructions.
