Enhance this sweet morning treat with Truvía™, a natural sweetener for a healthier twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fat-free (skim) milk
  • 1/2 cup fat-free egg product
  • 1 tablespoon Truvía™ Spoonable natural sweetener
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 slices flourless sprouted 100% whole grain bread
  • 1 1/2 cups mixed fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries), sliced if large
  • 6 tablespoons frozen (thawed) sugar-free whipped topping
  • Sugar-free maple-flavored syrup, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, whip together milk, egg product, Truvía™ natural sweetener, salt, and vanilla until smooth. Transfer mixture to a shallow dish and let it sit.
  • Preheat a nonstick griddle or skillet over medium heat or until it reaches 350°F. Test the griddle by sprinkling a few drops of water - if bubbles jump around, it's ready. Grease the griddle with butter as necessary.
  • Submerge bread slices into the flavorful egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated evenly. Transfer to the hot griddle and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until beautifully golden brown.
  • Top each slice with a generous sprinkle of 1/4 cup berries and a dollop of 1 tablespoon whipped topping. Finish with a drizzle of syrup.
