Indulge in a decadent fresh cherry cake - a moist white cake topped with sweet, tart cherries. Ideal for any special occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups white sugar, divided
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cups halved and pitted cherries
  • 1.25 cups cherry juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously grease a deep 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and whisk until fully blended.
  • In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to whip together 1 cup of sugar and butter until fluffy, about 4 to 5 minutes. Mix in milk and vanilla. Then, add the flour mixture and blend until the batter is thick and well combined, approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Spread the batter in the baking dish, layer the cherries on top, drizzle with cherry juice, and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40-45 minutes in the preheated oven.
