Indulge in fresh cherry cobbler for a burst of flavor - worth the effort of pitting cherries.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.75 cups white sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups pitted sour cherries
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and let a 9x13-inch baking dish sit inside with butter to melt. Take it out once the butter is melted, approximately 5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and baking powder. Blend in milk until smooth, then pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan without stirring.
  • Clean and dry the bowl used for the batter. Add cherries, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon flour to the bowl. Spread the cherry mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until the cobbler is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
