Crispy sweet potato chips with a hint of cinnamon, sugar, and salt for a delightful balance of flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 2 sweet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine sweet potatoes and milk in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Dredge sweet potato slices in the flour mixture, ensuring to shake off excess milk. Place coated sweet potatoes on a plate and continue with the remaining slices.
  • Warm up the vegetable oil in a big skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl.
  • In 2 to 3 batches, fry the coated sweet potatoes until crispy, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain on paper towel and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
