Green tomato Parmesan: Tangy twist on classic with crispy tomatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 10 green tomatoes, sliced 1/2-inch thick
  • 6 cups spaghetti sauce, divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  • Whisk eggs in a small bowl until smooth. Pour bread crumbs into a shallow dish. Dip tomato slices in egg, then coat with bread crumbs. Arrange in a single layer on baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until both sides turn a beautiful golden brown, approximately 5 minutes for each side.
  • Start by creating a base with 3 cups of spaghetti sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add a layer of tomato slices followed by half of the mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat with the remaining spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Finish off by sprinkling basil on top before baking.
  • Simply bake until golden brown in the preheated oven for around 35 minutes.
