Crispy, creamy crunch potatoes make the perfect French fry alternative.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 pouches (3.6 oz each) Betty Crocker™ Homestyle creamy butter mashed potatoes (just-add-water variety)
  • 3 cups vegetable oil
  • Ranch dressing, if desired
Instructions:
  • Bring water in a 2-quart saucepan to a boil, then remove from heat. Gently add potatoes and mix well.
  • Spread the potatoes evenly in an ungreased rimmed half baking sheet or 13x9-inch pan. Use a spatula to create a smooth surface. Chill in the freezer for about 1 hour until firm.
  • Cut stick shapes using a cookie cutter or sharp knife, then chill in the freezer until oil is hot.
  • Heat oil in a deep-fat fryer or heavy saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
  • Gently add frozen potato sticks to hot oil (making sure not to overcrowd the pan) and fry until golden brown. Remove the cooked potato sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to soak up any extra oil.
  • Drizzle with a side of flavorful dressing.
