Whip up crowd-pleasing cinnamon ginger bars with vanilla frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Vanilla Frosting
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Using an electric mixer, blend butter and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in the egg, then the molasses until creamy. Gradually add the remaining bar ingredients on low speed until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until edges are dry and center springs back when gently touched. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • Mix together granulated sugar and a hint of cinnamon in a small bowl. Spread frosting over the bars and sprinkle with the sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows to serve.
