Instant Pot frozen pork chops with creamy mushroom gravy - a family favorite, ready in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic base (such as Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Garlic Base)
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose seasoning (such as Savory Spice® Wash Park Seasoning)
  • 1.5 teaspoons shallot salt (such as Savory Spice® Supreme Shallot Salt)
  • 1.25 pounds bone-in, thick-cut, frozen pork chops
  • 6 ounces portobello mushrooms, quartered
  • 0.25 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon browning sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat a multi-functional pressure cooker (like Instant Pot) by selecting the Sauté function. Melt butter once the pot is hot. Sauté onions until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add garlic paste and water, then stir to combine.
  • Combine all-purpose seasoning and shallot salt in a bowl, then evenly sprinkle on both sides of the pork chops. Place the seasoned pork chops on top of the onion. Cancel the setting and securely lock the lid.
  • Choose the high pressure setting based on your device's guidelines. Set the timer for 13 minutes and patiently wait for the pressure to build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • After natural pressure release for 12 minutes, carefully quick-release the remaining pressure for about 5 minutes following the manufacturer's instructions. Remove and unlock the lid.
  • Transfer the pork chops to a plate. Cancel the current function and switch to Sauté mode. Stir in the mushrooms.
  • Combine whipped cream, flour, and browning sauce in a measuring cup, whisk until smooth. Pour mixture into the pot and simmer until slightly thickened, around 3 minutes. Spoon the savory mushroom gravy over the tender pork chops. Serve promptly.
