Fudgy Cinnamon Pudding Cake

Whip up this cozy dessert with pantry staples. Ready for the oven in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water
  • Ice cream, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in an ungreased 9x9x2-inch square pan. Use a fork to mix in milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in nuts and spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter, then pour boiling water over it.
  • Bake the cake for 40 minutes until golden. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes. Serve by spooning cake with sauce into individual dishes and topping with ice cream.
