Fudgy dark chocolate mousse spoons

A simple and decadent dessert made with just four ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 200g 70% cocoa dark chocolate, chopped
  • 20.00 gm caster sugar
  • 50g butter, softened
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 egg whites
Instructions:
  • In a large heatproof bowl, placed over a saucepan of simmering water (ensuring the base of the bowl does not touch the water), melt the chocolate by stirring for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth. Whisk in sugar until dissolved, then remove from heat. Stir in butter until smooth, followed by egg yolks until combined.
  • With an electric mixer, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently mix half of the whipped egg whites into the chocolate mixture until incorporated. Then, carefully fold in the rest of the whipped egg whites until fully combined. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour or until firm.
  • Allow the mousse to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Spoon 1 tablespoon of mousse onto each of the 7 serving spoons. Serve the mousse with coffee.
