Sticky ginger-garlic glazed chicken wings - ideal for game day snacking!
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 5 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot ®)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon Asian chile pepper sauce
  • 0.5 cup rice vinegar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line two baking sheets with aluminum foil, then grease the foil with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, generously season the chicken with salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Drizzle with vegetable oil and toss everything together until well coated.
  • In a large, food-safe plastic bag, combine the flour and wings. Seal the bag tightly and shake until the wings are fully coated with flour. Ensure there are no wet spots. Spread the wings on baking sheets without overlapping. Spritz the wings with extra cooking spray.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, then turn the wings and continue baking until crispy and fully cooked, about 30 more minutes.
  • Combine the garlic, ginger, chili paste, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and soy sauce in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add half of the wings and pour half of the sauce over them. Use tongs to toss the wings until evenly coated. Transfer the wings to a tray and let sit for about 5 minutes to allow the sauce to soak in before serving. Repeat the process with the remaining wings and sauce.
