Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2.5 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon hot water
  • 2 cups dates, pitted and chopped
  • 3 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect bake.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Dissolve the baking soda in hot water and mix it into the eggs. Stir in the flour and cinnamon until fully combined. Fold in the dates and walnuts until evenly distributed.
  • Use generous spoonfuls of the dough and place them on a non-greased baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
