Indulge in comforting German spaetzle - Mix, boil, sauté in butter for pure yum!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch freshly ground white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Fill a large pot halfway with water and bring it to a gentle simmer. Adjust the heat as needed.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, nutmeg, salt, and white pepper until well blended.
  • In a small bowl, beat eggs and mix with milk. Gradually incorporate into dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
  • In batches, push dough through a spaetzle maker, large-holed colander, or metal grater into simmering water. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, then lift out using a slotted spoon or spider and drain thoroughly.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter. Add the spaetzle and gently stir until heated through. Serve with a sprinkling of parsley.
