Transform Halloween snack mix with peanut butter pieces, Cheez-Its®, popcorn, and Bugles® into a spooky sensation with candy eyeballs and candy corn!
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups cone-shaped corn snacks (such as Bugles®)
  • 4 cups cheese-flavored crackers (such as Cheez-It®)
  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1.25 cups brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 2.25 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 ounce vanilla-flavored candy coating
  • 1 (.88 ounce) package candy eyeballs
  • 1 (11 ounce) package candy corn
  • 1 (12 ounce) package candy-coated peanut butter pieces (such as Reese's Pieces®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 255°F (124°C) for optimal baking temperature.
  • Mix together corn snacks, cheese crackers, popcorn, and pretzel sticks in a large roasting pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and baking soda. Pour over snack mixture in the roasting pan and stir to coat evenly.
  • Roast in the oven for 1 hour, making sure to coat every 15 minutes.
  • Cover your countertop with a layer of waxed paper and arrange the snack mix in a single even layer on top.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the candy coating for 1 minute until smooth. Use a dot of the melted candy to attach a candy eyeball to a corn snack. Repeat with the remaining eyeballs.
  • Combine the snack mix in a large bowl with the candy corn and peanut butter candy pieces.
