Ginger Collard Greens

Southern-style ginger dish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 quarts water
  • 6 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 1 bunch collard greens - rinsed, trimmed and chopped
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, bring water, bouillon cubes, onion, garlic, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and ginger powder to a boil over high heat. Add collard greens, bring back to a boil, then simmer over medium heat until very tender, about 1 hour. Strain before serving.
