Elevate your holiday season with delicious gingerbread figures topped with decadent Nutella® hazelnut spread. Enjoy this festive treat!
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon gingerbread spice mix
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 cup Nutella® hazelnut spread
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Combine butter, honey, and brown sugar in a bowl, then gently fold in the egg yolk until well blended.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, gingerbread spice mix, and salt in a separate bowl. Add the mixture to the butter and knead for 1 minute. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 320°F.
  • Roll out the dough on a sheet of parchment paper to 1/6-inch thickness. Cut out gingerbread men using a small gingerbread-man cookie cutter or any other small shaped item like a glass.
  • Place the gingerbread men onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the center of the oven for 8 to 9 minutes, or until they are lightly golden in color.
  • Allow to cool on a rack for 15 minutes.
  • Spread a generous amount of Nutella® hazelnut spread on the back of one gingerbread man, then gently press another gingerbread man on top to create a delicious sandwich.
  • Decorate the remaining gingerbread men with Nutella® hazelnut spread. Create a smooth paste by combining confectioners' sugar and lemon juice gradually. Transfer the icing to a piping bag and decorate the cookies.
