Indulgent toffee cookies drizzled with chocolate and vanilla - a crowd-pleasing dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 bars (1.4 oz each) chocolate-covered English toffee candy, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white vanilla baking chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream together 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, vanilla, and egg until light and fluffy. Then, add in flour, baking soda, and salt on low speed until just combined. Set aside 1/3 of the chopped candy for garnish, and mix the rest into the dough. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 11 to 14 minutes until edges turn golden and cookies are firm to the touch. Place wax paper on cooling racks and transfer cookies from sheets to cool.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of milk over medium-low heat, stirring often until it just boils and the sugar dissolves. Add powdered sugar and whisk until smooth. Dip or spread the glaze on top of cookies while still slightly warm. Allow the cookies to set on a rack for about 10 minutes. If the glaze thickens, gently reheat and whisk until smooth.
  • In separate small microwave-safe bowls, place the chocolate chips and vanilla chips. Microwave each on High for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth. Drizzle each flavor generously over the cookies using the tip of a spoon. Sprinkle with the remaining candy and refrigerate for 20 minutes to set quickly.
