Indulge in gluten-free corn dogs reminiscent of fair food magic, crafted with Bisquick® Gluten Free mix.
Ingredients:
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 cup gluten free cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick™ Gluten Free mix
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2/3 cup milk (you can use soy, almond, etc.)
  • 1 package (16 oz) gluten free hot dogs
  • Sticks, if desired
Instructions:
  • Heat 3 inches of oil in a deep fat fryer or heavy saucepan to 375°F.
  • Combine cornmeal, Bisquick mix, and sugar in a medium bowl. Whisk in egg and milk until a thick pancake-like batter forms. Adjust consistency with more Bisquick mix if needed. Skewer hot dogs, or cut into bite-size pieces. For kid-sized corn dogs, halve the hot dogs. Coat hot dogs evenly by rolling them in the batter.
  • Deep fry the hot dogs in hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes until they turn golden brown, flipping as needed. Drain the fried hot dogs on a paper towel-lined plate. Recipe yields enough batter for 1 package of hot dogs.
