Gluten-Free Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies

Decadent gluten-free fudgy brownies with a crunchy pretzel topping and a hint of sea salt.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Gluten Free Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • Butter and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 20 caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free pretzel twists, coarsely crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8- or 9-inch square pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. Follow the brownie mix instructions for the pan size and bake. Allow to cool for 1 hour before serving.
  • Place caramels and water in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered on High for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving for 30 to 45 seconds more, pausing to stir every 15 seconds, until the mixture is melted and smooth. Spread over cooled brownies, then top with crushed pretzels and a sprinkle of salt. Allow it to set for about 30 minutes before cutting into 16 pieces and storing covered in the refrigerator.
