Indulgent Fontina cheese gnocchi in creamy white sauce paired perfectly with a refreshing salad.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package refrigerated gnocchi
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped shallots
  • 0.33333334326744 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces Fontina cheese, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add gnocchi and cook until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Drain well.
  • Once gnocchi is cooking, prepare the sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Sauté shallots until tender, about 3 minutes. Add cream and heat until almost boiling. Slowly incorporate Fontina and Parmesan cheeses, stirring constantly to ensure smoothness. Remove from heat promptly to prevent clumping.
  • Transfer the gnocchi to individual plates and generously pour the sauce over them. Finish by adorning each dish with fresh basil leaves for a burst of flavor and color.
