Ingredients:
  • 155g brown sugar
  • 80ml golden syrup
  • 100g butter
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 185ml milk
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt together water, brown sugar, golden syrup, and butter until smooth.
  • Rub 50g of butter into the flour using your fingertips. Mix 1 tablespoon of golden syrup with milk, then stir into the flour mixture until well combined.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil, then spoon heaped dessert spoonfuls of the mixture into the sauce. Simmer over low heat, covered, for 15-20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Serve with ice cream.
