Gooey Caramel Cinnamon Rolls

Indulge in the aroma of caramelized cinnamon rolls baking to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, divided
  • 10 tablespoons butter, melted and divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
Instructions:
  • Combine water and yeast in a bowl and allow the mixture to sit until the yeast softens and creates a creamy foam, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Combine the tangy buttermilk and rich oil with the aromatic yeast mixture. Gently blend in the flour, salt, and baking soda until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Transfer dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until soft and stretchy for around 10 minutes. Allow the dough to relax for 15 minutes.
  • Combine the 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 4 tablespoons of melted butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Roll out dough into a 12-inch long rectangle that is 1/4-inch thick. Evenly spread cinnamon mixture on top. Roll up the dough lengthwise into a log and slice into 1-inch pieces using a serrated knife.
  • Combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 6 tablespoons melted butter, and molasses in a small bowl. Pour mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Place dough slices on top. Cover and allow to rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Bake in the oven until the top is beautifully golden, for 20-25 minutes.
