A gourmet meat burger crafted by MasterChef contestant Michael Weldon, loaded with flavorful toppings.
Ingredients:
  • 400g beef mince
  • 200g pork mince
  • 4.80 gm sea salt
  • 27.60 gm sunflower oil
  • 4 bacon rashers
  • 4 Kaiser Rolls, split
  • 20g butter
  • 40g whole-egg mayonnaise
  • 4 butter lettuce leaves
  • 8 slices tomato
  • 4 slices tasty cheese
  • 4 slices onion
  • 16 slices gherkin
  • Beerenberg Burger Relish, to serve
Instructions:
  • Mix the beef mince, pork mince, and salt in a large bowl until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4 burger patties using damp hands.
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat oil. Cook burger patties for 2 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Transfer to a plate. Cook bacon in the same pan for 2 minutes on each side or until crispy. Place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Butter the cut sides of the rolls and toast them in batches, buttered side down, in the pan for 1 minute or until golden brown.
  • Layer the bread roll bottoms with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, bacon, burger patty, cheese, onion, gherkin, relish, and finish with the bread roll tops.
