Green beans with bacon, garlic, and feta - a delicious holiday side dish!
Ingredients:
  • 8 slices bacon - cooked, crumbled and divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen cut green beans
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 ounces crumbled feta cheese, divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a large, deep skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until evenly browned but slightly crisp. Drain most of the grease, leaving a small amount in the skillet. Crumble the bacon, setting aside 2 tablespoons for garnish.
  • Microwave frozen beans with water in a covered dish for 3 minutes until thawed but al dente. Drain, pat dry, and set aside.
  • Heat skillet with the delicious bacon grease over medium-high heat. Mix in bacon and garlic until garlic turns lightly golden. Incorporate green beans and feta cheese; season with onion powder and black pepper. Cook and stir until most of the feta cheese has melted, around 2 minutes.
  • Place the green bean mixture in a serving dish, sprinkle the remaining feta cheese and crumbled bacon on top for an irresistible finish. Serve while hot.
