Green chile and cheddar cheese casserole with an egg filling. Perfect for brunch or lunch with canned or fresh chiles.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (7 ounce) cans whole green chile peppers, drained
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 0.33333298563957 cup milk
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to ensure even and perfect baking. Then, generously grease an 8x12 inch baking dish to prevent sticking and create a beautiful golden crust.
  • Start by creating a flavorful base with green chiles. Next, generously sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded cheese over the chiles, repeating this process two more times. In a separate medium bowl, combine milk and eggs, seasoning with salt and pepper to create a delicious mixture. Carefully pour the seasoned egg mixture over the layers of chiles and cheese to complete the dish.
  • Place in a piping hot oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the filling is firm. Allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before enjoying.
