Delicious green onion pancakes complement grilled meats perfectly.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1.25 cups boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Mix the flour and boiling water in a large bowl using a fork until well combined. Knead the dough into a ball shape and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Let the dough rest for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 16 equal pieces and roll each into a 1/4 inch thick circle. Brush with oil, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle each with about 1 teaspoon of green onions. Roll up into a cigar shape, then coil and pinch the ends to form a disc. Flatten each disc to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • In a large skillet, heat 2 teaspoons of oil until shimmering. Cook cakes until they are golden brown on each side, about 2 minutes per side. Add extra oil between batches, if needed.
