Elevate your burgers with a savory twist using beer-infused garlic and onion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup regular or nonalcoholic beer
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 rye or whole wheat hamburger buns, split
  • Ketchup, if desired
  • Pickle planks, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat a gas or charcoal grill. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl, excluding buns, ketchup, and pickles. Form the mixture into 6 patties, each about 3/4 inch thick.
  • Grill patties over medium heat, covering the grill. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, flipping once, until the meat thermometer reads 160°F in the center of the patties. Toast buns, cut sides down, on the grill for the last 4 minutes.
  • Add a classic touch by topping the juicy burgers with a dollop of tangy ketchup and crispy pickle planks before serving them on soft buns.
