Irresistible open-face sandwiches topped with gooey cheese, crispy bacon, and a touch of fresh parsley.
Ingredients:
  • 1 loaf (1 lb) french bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the grill. Slice the loaf of bread into 1-inch-thick slices. Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread. Place the slices, butter side down, on an ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle cheese, bacon, and parsley evenly over the bread slices.
  • Place bread slices, buttered side facing down, onto the grill over medium-high heat. Cook covered for 4 to 6 minutes until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
