Grilled beef sausages with homemade baked beans and golden hash browns - a comforting family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, peeled, chopped
  • 1 celery stick, chopped
  • 2 dried bay leaves
  • 5.00 gm smoked paprika
  • 700g btl tomato pasta sauce
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 3 x 400g cans butter beans, rinsed, drained
  • 1.7kg Thin Barbecue Beef Sausages
  • 8 hash browns
  • 8 roma tomatoes, halved
  • 300g pkt Baby Spinach Leaves
  • 8 slices bread, toasted, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, warm the oil. Sauté onion, carrot, celery, and bay leaves for 5 minutes until softened. Sprinkle in paprika and cook for 1 minute to enhance its aroma. Pour in pasta sauce and golden syrup, then bring to a simmer. Gently fold in beans and simmer without a lid for 10 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Cook sausages in a large lightly oiled frying pan over medium heat in batches for 8 minutes or until browned and cooked through; then set aside.
  • Prepare the hash browns as instructed on the package. Sear tomatoes in a hot frying pan for 2 minutes on each side until tender and heated. Season to taste.
  • In a large saucepan, cook the spinach, stirring frequently, until just wilted, about 2 minutes. Season to taste.
  • Place a generous portion of bread on each serving plate. Add a layer of fresh spinach and the flavorful bean mixture on top. Accompany with delicious sausages, crispy hash browns, and juicy tomato. Enjoy your delightful meal!
