Juicy lean bison burgers, grilled to perfection, ideal for summer picnics.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground bison
  • 0.5 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 dashes hot sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • 1 pinch granulated garlic
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • Fire up your outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Combine bison, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix together by hand and shape into 4 patties. Place the patties on a baking sheet, cover with foil, and chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  • Coat patties with cooking spray and grill over high heat until warm and slightly pink inside, approximately 5 minutes per side. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty and grill until melted, about 2 minutes. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy, the center should reach 140°F (60°C).
  • Assemble by placing the flavorful patties between two perfectly toasted bun halves.
