Grilled Butter-Rum Pound Cake

Grilled dessert: a decadent treat for the grill enthusiasts!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 package (10 3/4 ounces) frozen pound cake
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Prepare the grill by brushing the rack with vegetable oil. Heat the coals or gas grill for direct heat. In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream and brown sugar, and set it aside for later use.
  • Slice the frozen pound cake into 8 pieces. Sprinkle rum on both sides, spread butter, and press almonds onto the butter. Place the cake slices on a grilling screen.
  • Grill cake over medium heat, turning once, until golden brown, for about 5 minutes. Top with sour cream mixture before serving.
